I don't know what it is...

...about why kids (and most adults) find bodily function noises, and talk of said functions so hilarious. Does it stem from simple immaturity, or is it REALLY that funny?  As a Mom, I know I've laughed out loud when Thing 1 or Thing 2 have let out a loud toot.

Toilet humor is forever funny. As a child who spent many (probably too many) years watching stupid TV, we had Ren and Stimpy, South Park, and Salute Your Shorts.

The boy came out of the bathroom the other day, crying because his butt hurt. He actually said, "Mom...my bum hurts because my poop was big and the hole was too small." Of course, Matt and I started giggling like schoolgirls.

But really, Matt and I are no better. We're hard-working, and (have the ability to be) serious. But we can be as immature and childish as anyone. Whenever we drive down to Florida, we see signs for the Publix grocery store, or Tarpon Springs, and we can't stop laughing because they look like "Pubix", or "Tampon Strings". Don't even get me started on the "Pull-out Sofa Bed Fiasco of 2014".  The list goes on. We're an odd bunch.

One day, I was rummaging around in the pantry, and a can of soup fell *just so* on my knee. I screamed out "Ooowww!!!", Matt and I both started laughing, and at the exact same time, sang "I feel good" by James Brown. Turned out dropping a can of soup on my knee made me sound exactly like James Brown, and I haven't been able to duplicate that sound since.

I guess we'll never really know why things certain things make certain people laugh, while other people have the opposite reaction.

Personally, I love a good sense of humor. Corny jokes, sick jokes, people getting hit on the crotch, you name it. Laughing, and I mean really, truly laughing, is SO GOOD for the soul. It makes us feel younger, and when we laugh together as a group, (or better yet, as a couple), it enhances your intimacy and closeness.

Do it. Do it often, and with those you love (and even mildly like). Yes, I'm still talking about laughing. Find humor in the most everyday things. If you take life TOO seriously, ALL the time, life will just pass you by. So laugh. Laugh at farts. When someone you love trips (probably me, not gonna lie), laugh. Make sure they're okay first, then laugh. ;-)
